Plugin Model

The metamodel that describes the µRadiant plugins contains the elements needed to model various aspects of a plugin. A simplified representation of this metamodel:

The key features of this metamodel:

  • This model is standalone, meaning it contains a Program at the root called EditorPlugin.
  • In this EditorPlugin, you can link other plugin dependencies, link the metamodels you need, and define multiple EditorModelExtensions.
  • An EditorModelExtension essentially groups the various components the plugin is made up of. It is possible to create multiples, when you want to model out plugin functionalities for multiple ontologies, or when you want to group related components. Within an EditorModelExtension you can customize how the model is represented, displayed, and interacted with within the µRadiant.
  • The metamodel you want to build a plugin for is defined in EditorMetamodel. This element takes care of recognizing and importing the correct ontologies.
