Features and Customization

Every NS Angular applicationApplicationThe overarching model container grouping all components, domain logic, and configurations for an enterprise solution. comes with built-in pages for the base components and ready-made authentication options, and leaves room for project-specific code.

Base Feature Modules

By default an NS Angular applicationApplicationThe overarching model container grouping all components, domain logic, and configurations for an enterprise solution. already includes several built-in Base Feature Modules, which are the frontend relatives of the Base Components. They provide frontend pages for handling common cross-cutting concerns:

  • Account contains
    • the default CRUD pages for the Account base component, such as Account, User, UserGroup, Profile and DataAccess
    • a my-user-page for the logged-in user;
  • Assets contains the default CRUD pages for the Assets base component, such as Asset, External Asset, File Asset and allows uploading stand-alone assets;
  • Utils contains the CRUD pages for the Utils base component: ParamTargetValue and TagValuePair.

Authentication

By default, an expanded Angular applicationApplicationThe overarching model container grouping all components, domain logic, and configurations for an enterprise solution. has no authentication. An authentication implementation can be added custom, or by using one of the two ready-made options: basic authentication, with a login screen for username and password, or OpenID Connect, where a login button starts the login flow with an identity provider. Basic authentication is not very secure, so OpenID Connect is the preferred option for production applicationsApplicationThe overarching model container grouping all components, domain logic, and configurations for an enterprise solution..

Customizing the Angular app

There are two ways to add custom code to an expanded Angular applicationApplicationThe overarching model container grouping all components, domain logic, and configurations for an enterprise solution.:

  • inserting code in custom anchorsAnchorA marker within generated source code reserved for adding custom logic during re-expansion.,
  • adding your own files.

Unlike the NS applicationNS Application (NSApplication). A pre-built software stack that provides common enterprise application functionality such as CRUD, search, authentication, and business process modeling out of the box., the Angular applicationApplicationThe overarching model container grouping all components, domain logic, and configurations for an enterprise solution. has no physical ext and gen folders. Instead, a manifest file keeps track of which files have been expanded. This makes it possible to have your own file live next to an expanded file. To keep a clear structure throughout all NS Angular applicationsApplicationThe overarching model container grouping all components, domain logic, and configurations for an enterprise solution., only certain folders accept custom files.
