Our Standard Elements Ontology

When building a default NS applicationNS Application (NSApplication). A pre-built software stack that provides common enterprise application functionality such as CRUD, search, authentication, and business process modeling out of the box., you define data elementsData Element (DataElement). A fundamental data concept or entity within an application's domain, acting as an anthropomorphic translation of a real-life object or concept., task elements, data commandsData Command (DataCommand). [Deprecated] A legacy mechanism used for data input and custom action execution on DataElements, replaced by DataOperations., findersFinderA search specification combining field-operator pairs to execute standard data queries on a DataElement., and more. These concepts are described in the elements ontology. The elements metamodel is therefore our default metamodel. Within this ontology, the following core concepts are key:

  • ApplicationApplicationThe overarching model container grouping all components, domain logic, and configurations for an enterprise solution.: The root of the NS applicationNS Application (NSApplication). A pre-built software stack that provides common enterprise application functionality such as CRUD, search, authentication, and business process modeling out of the box..
  • Component: Reusable modules that make up the NS applicationNS Application (NSApplication). A pre-built software stack that provides common enterprise application functionality such as CRUD, search, authentication, and business process modeling out of the box..
  • Data ElementData Element (DataElement). A fundamental data concept or entity within an application's domain, acting as an anthropomorphic translation of a real-life object or concept.: The data model defined within a Component.

Using this metamodel allows us to model a complete NS ApplicationNS Application (NSApplication). A pre-built software stack that provides common enterprise application functionality such as CRUD, search, authentication, and business process modeling out of the box.. If we want to model something else, we will need a different metamodel, which we will explore in the following pages.
